A fond Farewell to Sippican Healthcare Center.

For over 40 years, Whittier Health Network has been committed to providing the highest quality care, guided by the values instilled by our founder, Dr. Alfred L. Arcidi. It is with mixed emotions that we announce the transition of ownership for six of our skilled nursing facilities.

In March 2025, Atlas Healthcare Group will assume operations of Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Masconomet Healthcare Center, Nemasket Healthcare Center, Oak Knoll Healthcare Center, Port Healthcare Center, and Sippican Healthcare Center. We are confident that Atlas will continue the legacy of compassionate, patient-centered care that has always been at the heart of Whittier.

Since our founding in 1982, our mission has been simple yet profound: to treat every patient, resident, and staff member like family. We take immense pride in the exceptional care provided at our facilities, the thousands of lives we’ve helped restore, and the trust placed in us by families across our communities.

While this transition marks the next chapter for these six facilities, Whittier’s commitment to high-quality, specialized care remains steadfast. Our Rehabilitation Hospitals in Westborough and Bradford will continue to provide expert inpatient treatment for patients requiring intensive rehabilitation or medically complex post-acute care. We will also continue to care for patients in our Transitional Care Unit and our robust outpatient center, always ensuring our patients have the freedom to make the choices that matter most to them and their families.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every resident, family member, and dedicated staff member who has been part of the Whittier family. The past 40+ years have been filled with purpose, compassion, and excellence—values that will continue to define Whittier’s future.
