Nemasket Healthcare Center has received a “Center of Excellence in Wound Management” award from our wound care providers, Wound Care Specialists, LLC. for outstanding wound management performance!

This award identifies post-acute care client skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) that demonstrate outstanding wound management performance and continued superiority in wound healing. When a skilled nursing facility has received this award, residents and patients can be assured that they are receiving the best wound care possible. Proper wound care helps prevent infection and other complications, and heals patients’ wounds faster.

Nemasket Healthcare Center is a Center of Excellence in Wound Management award recipient for outstanding wound management performance certificateOur Wound RN, Erin Quindley, said: “I was fortunate to become Wound Care-Certified this past year and became the wound nurse after being a nurse at Nemasket since 2019. I have loved not only working with wounds but also tracking wound progress. This past year, as a team, we have made wounds a large focus of ours – in some months even following over 40 wounds throughout the facility.

As Staff Development Coordinator I have also worked on educating our staff on wound care and how to improve patient outcomes. We have a very small team here at Nemasket and we all work together for the best patient outcomes. I really enjoy working with Carrie, our wound provider, and we have developed a great system and working relationship.

Our sub-acute unit nurse Darrin takes a lot of pride in wound care as well, which is a great help with some of the challenging cases we get on the subacute unit. I take pride in receiving this award and continuing to work with the patients and staff on wound management performance and wound healing.”

Kelly Valenzuela, Administrator at Nemasket, added: “Our professionals are dedicated to providing high quality long-term nursing and subacute care. Our relationship with Wound Care Specialists allows our team to provide the best possible wound care for both our short-term rehab patients and long-term care residents. We look forward to a continuing collaboration between our wound care staff and Wound Care Specialists.”
