Dear Mr. Iannaco;
Today, it was confirmed that our mom, Samia Betros, will be transferred on Monday, June 8th, from Whittier Rehab to another facility. We would be remiss if we didn’t take this opportunity to say thank you to the entire team for the care she received as well as the protection from the COVID-19 virus.
The only time I was able to see your facility was on March 11th, the day my mom was transferred there from Lahey. On March 12th, everything went on lockdown so my family and I had to rely on your wonderful team to keep us updated on our mom’s progress.
There are a few special people that we would like to highlight and know that we will be forever grateful to them:
- Dr. Liguori and his team for taking care of our mom.
- Paula Ralls, our lifeline and case manager extraordinaire, who allowed us to Facetime and Zoom with our mom as well as keep us updated on her care and status.
- Holly (sorry didn’t get her last name) in therapy who worked so kindly with our Mom. And recently Laila, who tried to speak to my mom in Arabic.
- Taylor in Pulmonary who kept me updated on Mom’s trach progress
- And all the wonderful nurses that we spoke to – AJ, Shendika, Hulia, Ryan, Jo-El, Aliana, Peter, Jen, Natalie, Abigail, Jerome, Justine, Cindy, Caroline, Lisa, Sid, Sue, Olga, Cheryl, Jen, Marlena, Laila, Lopsung (I tried to get everyone’s name but if I missed a few, I am sorry).
- Melissa and Lynn who answer the phone so kindly all the hundreds of times we called.
- And the first day I was there, I met with Wendy, Jamie, Erna, Alex and Cornelius, and they were terrific too.
In these uncertain times, we are thankful we found a place where our mom could be safe and cared for. On behalf of my siblings, please share our gratitude with the entire team for everything they did for our mom.
