Transforming Post-Stroke Gait Rehabilitation Through Innovative Technologies.

September 26 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Whittier Health Network invites you to attend a FREE Zoom Continuing Education Program:

Transforming Post-Stroke Gait Rehabilitation Through Innovative Technologies.

Thursday, September 26, 2024
Presented by: Franchino Porciuncula, EdD, PT, DScPT
Research Assistant Professor, Boston University.

Research teams at Boston University and Harvard University have developed soft wearable robots (called ‘exosuits’) that are capable of improving walking function/ speed through restoration of walking mechanics in individuals post-stroke. In this presentation, findings from a recently completed clinical trial will be shared that examined the therapeutic effects on walking function following a 4-week intervention of high-intensity, speed-based gait training using soft exosuits in individuals post-stroke.
