Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital is proud to announce that we are one of the first facilities to be granted dual certification as an LTACH & IRF.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have amended regulations governing the rules for excluded hospitals to allow an LTACH, like Whittier, to house another hospital under one roof, regardless of their shared ownership.
This change allows Whittier the ability to accommodate ALL post-acute patients effective October 1, 2019.
With our new IRF Unit, Whittier is able to offer all levels of care under one roof.
• LTACH – Long Term Acute Care Hospital
• IRF – Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (acute short term)
• TCU – Transitional Care Unit
• Outpatient
• Home Health Care Organization
