On April 1st, 2024 Medicare instituted a new Level 2 HCPCS procedure for a “user adjustable” prosthetic socket. This presentation will discuss how the rapid increase in these types of sockets will address common fitting issues and why patients and therapists need to understand how they are properly donned and adjusted. Use of these more sophisticated sockets should improve prosthetic socket performance, therapy sessions and patient acceptance.
