Potential Treatment of
an Intracerebral Hemorrhage:
The FASTEST Research Study
Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital Westborough invites you to attend a Zoom continuing education presentation:
Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 6:30-7:30 pm
Presented by:
Dr Jun‐O’Connell, Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor, University of Massachusetts Medical School
We hope to increase awareness about Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH), a type of stroke that comprises about 10‐15% of all strokes worldwide. To date, there is no scientifically proven effective treatment for ICH and due to its devastating nature, a need to study treatment options is paramount. A national study, known as FASTEST, is coming soon to UMASS Medical Center that tests recombinant factor VIIa (a normal protein in our body that helps stop bleeding) as a potential treatment of ICH, if given fast enough. Our intention for this presentation is to give an overview of ICH and the nationwide study that could provide benefits not only to patients that suffer from an ICH but also to neurocritical care research overall.
Please RSVP by Monday, November 15.
We will need your name, email and phone number. You will then get an official Zoom Invite the day before the presentation which will include the meeting ID and password for joining. After the presentation you will receive an evaluation form which you must complete in order to receive your certificate (via email). You must be in the presentation room no later than five minutes after the start or you will not gain entrance. If you leave the zoom presentation you will not be allowed back in.
