A Special Facility

We are very proud of the comfortable elegance that the facility provides to our residents.
We work very hard to bring all the comforts of home.

In designing living accommodations, we paid special attention to details. Private and semi-private rooms are pleasantly decorated. Each has an individual look. They are large enough to truly allow for optimum comfort and convenience. Each has a private bath. Residents are encouraged to add their personal touch to their rooms. A favorite piece of furniture, pictures, cherished knickknacks can help make any room more like home.

On each resident floor, there is a sitting room and small kitchen where patients and their guests can gather to socialize or share a snack. There is also a library and music room, activities room, patio, therapy rooms and beauty salon.

The formal dining room has the ambiance of one of your favorite dining restaurants.
Our selective menu includes regional and international specialties and seasonal favorites, all of which are prepared under the supervision of a registered dietitian and medical staff. Individual room service is also available.

A Special Setting
The facility is attractively situated on lovely grounds. When you arrive, you will find the setting to be pleasant and comfortable.

Inside, you will find elegant dining and social rooms and finely decorated living accommodations. In addition, the nursing and therapeutic services are second to none. Programs are comprehensive, offering residents the most modern, innovative therapies available.

“To all the nursing staff and the doctors and anyone involved with my care and attention during my stay at your facility from December 26th to January 7th. I couldn’t have had better care anywhere. You were so kind, nothing was too much trouble for any of you. Especial thanks to the physicians and occupational therapists. Thanks to them I have made excellent progress. Many thanks to you all. Yours sincerely, Dinah.”

“Dear Mr. Gloor, I wanted to write and express my gratitude for the excellent and compassionate care my mother, Annabelle Elliott, received at Masconomet. It eased my mind tremendously, knowing that she was there and all needs being addressed. The staff was wonderful - each person I spoke with was professional, knowledgeable and caring. If you would please convey this to them, I would appreciate it. Thank you again, for everything. Sincerely, Jennifer P. Elliott.”

“There are no words to express my appreciation for the care and love my mother Catherine Crowley received during her five year stay at Masconomet. I would always tell my friends that I would feel better when I left than when I arrived because I could see the care and love my mother received. Staff like Renee and Martha Collins and Crystal and Hilda and Sean and all the nurses on Gould just to mention a few, made our family feel so safe. Its been a little too soon to come back for a visit but I will be there soon to make my thanks in person.”

“Dear Doc and the Boys, On behalf of the entire Zappala family I want to thank you for the absolutely outstanding care that was given to our mother at the Masco Health Center. The care that was given to her was like having the same care that would be given by a family member. The facility is beautiful, extremely clean and the staff was magnificent. Renee the activities director along with Lorrie Nobil, Cheryl Clapp and the rest of the staff made her final days peaceful and serene. Thank you all so much for your dedication and love. You are all true professionals. We all thank you. Tom, Al, Anna Zappala and the entire family.”

“To Scott, I wish to congratulate you on running such a great facility! I believe you have a very special work place and every staff member I interacted with have been kind, considerate and very compassionate. It starts at the top...the building is spotless and cared for so nicely. I will spread your name everywhere I go. Thank you again! Gratefully, Myrna S.”

“The Quinn Family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Masconomet, especially the staff on the Baker Unit, for the exceptional care Bill received during his stay. We are grateful for the patience and understanding of the staff to our Dad and to all of us during a very difficult time.”

“It is with sincere thanks and gratitude for the care given to our parents, John and Virginia N., during their short stay at Masconomet Healthcare, that we offer this Wii System and games for the pleasure and therapeutic care of the patients at Masconomet. We hope this token of our appreciation will help in the physical and mental care of all the patients who use it in the memory of our parents. Fondly,Carol N., Cindy N. B., Joanne N. R.”

“Dear Masco staff, thank you so much for the use of the parlor and family dining room for the remembrance ceremony in honor of Ruth's sister-in-law Beatrice. It was perfect—private and quiet—and Ruth was able to participate fully in the ceremony because she wasn't exhausted from the physical and emotional stress of having to move to an offsite location. Thank you, especially, to Jennifer for arranging this, to Scott for approving it, and to Rob for making sure that we were able to use the rooms that Saturday. Thank you also to the Activities people who supported our use of the rooms that day.”

“Enclosed please find some madeleines for Masconomet's pre-Thanksgiving Fair on Wednesday. These French cookies are traditionally served with tea. I hope the Masco residents and their families enjoy them. I also hope you 'make a bundle' from the sale of baked goods and crafts to help fund a 'dream' purchase for the Activities Dept. Thank you, Renee, for all you give to the residents of one of the best nursing facilities around. You give your heart and soul to them and to their families and it shows. Please know how much my sister (Joanne C.) and I appreciate all you did and for all the loving care you showed to our parents (John and Ginny N.) just a few months ago.”

“To Everyone, Joann & Nurses, PTs, Occupational Therapists, Maids, etc. Nursing Aides etc.:I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great services provided while I was a patient there Oct 6-13 and how great the complete care was which helped me tremendously to recover from my total hip replacement. Everyone was friendly, kind, compassionate and above all professional - will have to stop by when I go to Topsfield to visit my son & family. Thanks so much! I would highly recommend this facility to everyone. Sincerely,Nancy S. ps. Please make sure that all nurses etc. at the nurses station get to read this.”

“Dear Scott: On March 6, 2007, I had a total right knee replacement @ Beverly Hospital. I was asked by the Beverly Hospital social services person where I wanted to go for my rehab. Naturally they advised me to go to Ledgewood. Since Masconomet was highly recommended by a friend, I elected to go there. After much discussion, social services called and a bed was made available for me at your facility. After 4 days post-op, I was transferred to your facility. When I entered your facility, I knew that I had made the right choice. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the facility was first class. Early the next morning, the PT and OT staff descended upon me, even before breakfast, and we were off and running, with a positive relationship. By the end of the week, I was up, out and about and on my way home. 10 weeks later, on May 15, I had a total left knee replacement, and insisted on repeating the above circumstances. Today is July 15, and I cannot be happier with the results of my surgeries and the successes of my rehab, which I attribute to the fine people at your facility. Special thanks to Joann Trull and Vicki Ambrose.”

“I'd like to compliment you on your Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield. I know it takes many people to share in "running" a beautiful, caring nursing home...from the positive, attentive receptionist to the caring professional nursing staff and EVERYONE in between...and, of course, you — always managing, quietly and efficiently. I really can't say enough how grateful I and my family were with my mother's care for the three years that she called Masconomet her home.It always was a pleasure coming to see my mother there. My family and I thank you for everything...and I extend that thanks to EVERYONE.”

“My stay at Masconomet has been very pleasant and I can't say enough good things about it —I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is about to face rehab and in future I might even like to stay here. The nurses, PTs, OTs and all the other personnel are always cheerful and answer the call button immediately and are a joy to be with. I can't say enough about you all.”
